Break cable was apart from the casing. Tried to put it back in, couldn't. Took front/left break apart and one of the plastic pieces broke. So don't try to fix this bike yourself. Took it to my local bike shop and they said they deal with this a lot and we will call you when it's ready to pick up. The breaks aren't standard, so they need to wait for the part. It's been about a week.
Thank you for your review. I am sorry the brake cable frayed and this is something that can happy if the end cap is damaged or gets removed. Fortunately the GO bikes use standard V-brakes and cable and a local bike shop can quickly and easily get it serviced.
