Great quality but isn’t a game changer

My daughter recently learned how to ride her bike. She was doing very well on her specialized bike but it is heavy. I wanted to boost her confidence and give her a lighter bike that she could really take off on. The bike itself and parts are of the highest quality, it is light weight too. However my daughter took a huge step back in her ability to balance when we switched her to the Woom 4 bike (same size as her other bike). The main issue is that the tires are very thin. Her old bike had fatter tires. She also doesn’t like how the shifter on the one side gets in her way of gripping the handle, it does take up a lot of room. I thought this bike would be a game changer considering all the hype about the design being ideal for quick easy learning. I think she was better off on her old bike. Design/quality = 5 stars, can your kid learn to ride on another bike just as easily, definitely. I plan to return the smaller bike I got for my younger daughter, it’s just not worth the extra money in my opinion.

I believe!

Two days, two days from two years of frustration for my 7 year old, taking training wheels on and off and on again, two days and she was riding like she had been forever. Just buy the bike

Best tool for the job

Adjustability with kid's growth is an underlined specs of most kids' bikes in the market but Woom hit it right, all the time. We are on our 3rd Woom now, starting from 2 to 3 to 4 and this brand grows with the kid. The geometry is spot on, adjustability is wide yet still performing good. 4 star rewarded because I wish we are given choice to choose the tires we want that fit the lifestyle we are in, choice to selec gear speeds (7/8/9) and upgrades to better revshift shifter from Shimano. Woom already did this to Explore anyway, why not streamline it ? I am willing to pay the $5-10 extra part cost on it. This grip shifter from Microshift requires great force to turn to get to lowest gear (1) despite being a bit better than the previous generation of Microshift. I am considering changing to trigger shifter as soon my kid understands the mechanism of gearing fully because he struggles to get up to the lightest gear.

Best kids bike around

This is our 3rd Woom and now all 3 of our boys are riding one. We tried to save a few bucks on a Giant recently, which was the lightest 20” bike in the store, but we were so disappointed by the weight and the quality of components and even the riding position that we paid the restocking fee, returned it and bought our son a Woom. Don’t make the same mistake, just buy the Woom.

Great!

I was surprised my 6 year old taught herself how to use the gears within two bike rides! Woom makes it very easy for young riders!

My daughter loves her Woom Go 4

I opted to get the Woom Go 4 to ensure the concerns with shifting gears were addressed. So far I’m happy to report she can seamlessly change gears.
