Kids' heads need proper protection – and our helmet is the perfect fit.
A child's bike helmet needs to fit properly and feel comfortable. And that means it needs to be carefully designed to match the exact shape of kids' heads as they grow. We studied thousands of scans of children's heads when we were designing our READY Kids' Helmet. That's how we ended up with a helmet that fits and protects perfectly at every stage of a child's development - without slipping, wobbling, pinching, or digging in. Plus, we added plenty of ingenious details to keep your child safe and make it easy for them to put their own helmet on and take it off again.

How do I know which helmet size my child needs?
You need to measure the circumference of your child's head to figure out which helmet size to buy. Holding a tape measure against your child's forehead, slightly above their eyebrows and ears, measure all the way around their head, making sure you're measuring the widest part.
Compare your measurement with our sizes. If you fall on the cusp of two sizes, it's better to size up.

How do I make sure the helmet is sitting correctly?
If the helmet is too tight when your child puts it on, start by turning the size-adjustment dial to loosen off the adjustment system on the inside. Make sure the helmet is sitting level and covering your child's head properly. The front edge of the helmet should sit around 1 cm above the bridge of your child's nose. Turn the size-adjustment dial to tighten the ring on the inside until you're happy that the helmet is sitting nice and snugly. It shouldn't wobble when your child gently shakes their head. Finish off by fastening the chin strap clasp. Speaking of which... Before your child wears the helmet for the first time, adjust the length of the chin strap so that the helmet sits snugly but still feels comfortable.
The safest helmet is one that a child wants to wear
In this video, the smart people who invented this awesome piece of protective headgear explain what makes the READY children's helmet so special. Not only does it look cool, it is also perfectly adapted to children's heads. Find out how the helmet makes children visible in the dark and which other features increase safety.

Maximum Visibility
When you equip your child with the READY Kids' Helmet and rechargeable READY Helmet Light in this bundle, you can rest assured that they'll be visible at all times – even in dark and foggy conditions. You can't miss the red LED rear light, which adds even more visibility to the other reflective features on the helmet. Plus, the smart light turns itself off when it detects inactivity, and also lets you know when it needs charging!

Easy Attachment
Just pop the helmet light into the top ventilation hole on the rear of the helmet – the fit is perfect, and it'll stay exactly where it's meant to be. You can easily remove it at any point too, such as when you're ready to move it over to another READY Kids' Helmet. But there's no need to remove the light from the helmet for charging because the port on the back of the light is easy to reach.

Perfect Fit
We matched each of the three sizes of our READY Kids' Helmet to the exact shape and proportions of children's growing heads. That's how we designed a helmet that fits perfectly at every age. We also took care not to put pressure on sensitive areas like the big soft spot at the front of a young child's head. No wonder the helmet is so comfortable! Your child will feel ready for adventure as soon as they put it on their head.

Low Helmet Shell
So many children's helmets only protect the top of the head. The READY Kids' Helmet goes much further, with the ultra-low shell protecting the forehead, temples, and back of the head too. So you can rest assured that your child's head is protected all around.

Protective Visor
The flexible visor is an innovative feature that acts as a sun and rain shield, while providing protection for your child's face if they fall off their bike. You can count on the helmet to absorb the impact thanks to its energy-absorbing material and special structure.

Non-Slip Size Adjustment Dial
The adjustment system on the inside of the helmet is a padded ring that wraps around your child's head. Simply turn the robust, non-slip size adjustment dial to tighten or loosen the ring. With a twist of the wrist, the helmet will perfectly fit your child.

Large Ventilation Holes
We don't want your child's head to sweat when they're out on their bike, roller skates, or scooter, so we gave our helmet sizeable ventilation holes and internal air channels. This way, your child can always keep a cool head – even on their most epic active adventures.

Reflective Features
The READY Kids' Helmet has plenty of reflective features – the logo on each side, the two straps, and the detailing on the size adjustment dial. So you can rest assured that your child will be visible at all times – even in dark or foggy conditions. You can boost that visibility by adding our rechargeable LED rear light to the helmet.

Practical Magnetic Clasp
The magnetic clasp on the chin strap is so easy to open and close that your child will manage without any problems, even if they're only using one hand and wearing gloves. The pinch-free clasp ensures your child's skin and hair are safe, too.

Soft & Comfy Padding
The pads inside the READY Kids' Helmet are made of a soft, absorbent material that doesn't have scratchy edges or awkward seams. Pair the padding with the perfect fit and your child has a helmet that feels ultra-comfortable on their head. Just take the pads out when you need to wash them and pop them back in when they're dry (we recommend washing them by hand and leaving them to air dry).
For which activities and areas of use is the READY children's helmet suitable?
The helmet was tested according to U.S. CPSC Safety Standards for Bicycle Helmets. The READY children's helmet is therefore only suitable for children and for use in everyday cycling and roller sports. The children's helmet is not approved for cycling with high speeds and jumps such as downhill, dirt jumping or BMX. However, your child can use the READY children's helmet for scooter riding, roller skating, and of course cycling.
Size XS and S helmets comply with U.S. CPSC Safety Standard for Bicycle Helmets for Persons Age 1 and Older (Extended Head Coverage).
Size M helmets comply with U.S. CPSC Safety Standard for Bicycle Helmets for Persons Age 5 and Older.
How do I determine the right bicycle helmet size for my child?
To determine the best size helmet for your child, you will need to measure the circumference of their head. A measuring tape is ideal for this. Start in the middle of the forehead, and wrap the tape around the widest part of your child's head back to the starting point. Compare the measurement result with the size information on the READY Kids’ Helmet.
How do I make sure that the READY children's helmet fits my child correctly?
First, make sure that the helmet fits your child’s head well and sits horizontally. The helmet should not be pulled too far back. Nor should it be pulled too far forward so as not to restrict your vision. Ideally, the front edge of the helmet should be about an inch or less above the bridge of the nose.
To check the fit and size, open the chin strap and let your child shake their head. If the helmet moves too much, tighten the size adjustment dial in the back a little more. When using the helmet for the first time, adjust the chin strap to a length that ensures a firm and comfortable fit.
What material is the READY children's helmet made of?
The outer shell is made of polycarbonate (PC), which is 100% recycled, and the inner shell is made of expanded polystyrene (EPS), which is 50% recycled. The specially designed visor (created to protect against sun, rain, and injuries) is made of expanded polypropylene (EPP).
How do I care for and store the READY children's helmet?
Only clean the helmet and its components with lukewarm water and a mild soap solution. Aggressive cleaning agents and solvents can attack the helmet material and impair its protective effect.
Store the helmet in a cool, dry place that is protected from daylight. The helmet can be damaged by excessively high temperatures or strong UV radiation. Therefore, do not store it at temperatures above +100 °F; such temperatures can be reached, for example, inside a car when exposed to sunlight. Do not place the helmet directly on or next to a heat source such as a stove.
By storing and caring for the helmet correctly, you’ll ensure that the material does not age faster than usual and that the helmet's protection can be guaranteed over its service life.
How long can the READY children's helmet be used? Can it be used after a fall?
The bicycle helmet may only be used for a maximum of five years from the specified production date, even if the helmet appears to be in good condition. You can find the production date on the sticker on the inside of the helmet.
The service life depends on:
- Use and application: Strong UV radiation or excessive wear can negatively impact product properties and thus shorten the service life.
- Storage: Store the helmet in a cool, dry place protected from sunlight, where it will not come into contact with aggressive chemicals and will not be exposed to compression, or tensile stress.
- Care: Clean the helmet and its components only with lukewarm water and a mild soap solution. Aggressive cleaning agents and solvents can attack the helmet material and impair its protective effect.
- After a fall, the helmet should definitely be replaced! Even if there is no visible damage and the helmet appears to be in good condition, it should not be used after an impact. Every impact reduces the ability of the energy-absorbing materials in the helmet shell to absorb further impacts. Even small cracks and damage that are not visible from the outside can impair the helmet's protective function.
By storing and caring for the helmet correctly, you ensure that the material does not age faster than usual and that the helmet's protection can be guaranteed over its service life.
Are there spare parts for the READY Kids’ Helmet?
You can find all spare parts that we offer for the READY children's helmet in our online store here or at your woom dealer.
If you cannot find the right spare part, please contact our customer service.
Why is the READY helmet light not permanently integrated into the helmet?
The READY Helmet Light fits all sizes of the READY helmet. This means that if the helmet is too small for your child, the light can simply be transferred to the next helmet size. This means that the helmet light can be used for a longer time.
The READY Kids' Helmet is ready for all these adventures
