For which activities and areas of use is the READY children's helmet suitable?
The helmet was tested according to U.S. CPSC Safety Standards for Bicycle Helmets. The READY children's helmet is therefore only suitable for children and for use in everyday cycling and roller sports. The children's helmet is not approved for cycling with high speeds and jumps such as downhill, dirt jumping or BMX. However, your child can use the READY children's helmet for scooter riding, roller skating, and of course cycling.
Size XS and S helmets comply with U.S. CPSC Safety Standard for Bicycle Helmets for Persons Age 1 and Older (Extended Head Coverage).
Size M helmets comply with U.S. CPSC Safety Standard for Bicycle Helmets for Persons Age 5 and Older.
How do I determine the right bicycle helmet size for my child?
To determine the best size helmet for your child, you will need to measure the circumference of their head. A measuring tape is ideal for this. Start in the middle of the forehead, and wrap the tape around the widest part of your child's head back to the starting point. Compare the measurement result with the size information on the READY Kids’ Helmet.
How do I make sure that the READY children's helmet fits my child correctly?
First, make sure that the helmet fits your child’s head well and sits horizontally. The helmet should not be pulled too far back. Nor should it be pulled too far forward so as not to restrict your vision. Ideally, the front edge of the helmet should be about an inch or less above the bridge of the nose.
To check the fit and size, open the chin strap and let your child shake their head. If the helmet moves too much, tighten the size adjustment dial in the back a little more. When using the helmet for the first time, adjust the chin strap to a length that ensures a firm and comfortable fit.
What material is the READY children's helmet made of?
The outer shell is made of polycarbonate (PC), which is 100% recycled, and the inner shell is made of expanded polystyrene (EPS), which is 50% recycled. The specially designed visor (created to protect against sun, rain, and injuries) is made of expanded polypropylene (EPP).
How do I care for and store the READY children's helmet?
Only clean the helmet and its components with lukewarm water and a mild soap solution. Aggressive cleaning agents and solvents can attack the helmet material and impair its protective effect.
Store the helmet in a cool, dry place that is protected from daylight. The helmet can be damaged by excessively high temperatures or strong UV radiation. Therefore, do not store it at temperatures above +100 °F; such temperatures can be reached, for example, inside a car when exposed to sunlight. Do not place the helmet directly on or next to a heat source such as a stove.
By storing and caring for the helmet correctly, you’ll ensure that the material does not age faster than usual and that the helmet's protection can be guaranteed over its service life.
How long can the READY children's helmet be used? Can it be used after a fall?
The bicycle helmet may only be used for a maximum of five years from the specified production date, even if the helmet appears to be in good condition. You can find the production date on the sticker on the inside of the helmet.
The service life depends on:
- Use and application: Strong UV radiation or excessive wear can negatively impact product properties and thus shorten the service life.
- Storage: Store the helmet in a cool, dry place protected from sunlight, where it will not come into contact with aggressive chemicals and will not be exposed to compression, or tensile stress.
- Care: Clean the helmet and its components only with lukewarm water and a mild soap solution. Aggressive cleaning agents and solvents can attack the helmet material and impair its protective effect.
- After a fall, the helmet should definitely be replaced! Even if there is no visible damage and the helmet appears to be in good condition, it should not be used after an impact. Every impact reduces the ability of the energy-absorbing materials in the helmet shell to absorb further impacts. Even small cracks and damage that are not visible from the outside can impair the helmet's protective function.
By storing and caring for the helmet correctly, you ensure that the material does not age faster than usual and that the helmet's protection can be guaranteed over its service life.

Why is the READY helmet light not permanently integrated into the helmet?
