FAQ
All questions about the safe use, care, and storage of your woom WOW are answered here:
The woom WOW is designed for children aged between 9 and 36 months but is suitable for older children as long as they don't weigh more than 20 kg.
The woom WOW can be used indoors and outdoors on private property that is separated from the street – for example, in a fenced garden or at a gated playground.
We recommend that your child gets used to the woom WOW inside to start with. Once they've built up their confidence, they can head outside and ride the balance bike on the grass or patio out in the garden.
Please check the legal requirements for helmets where you live because the rules may vary from country to country. Even if it's not a requirement, we recommend that your child always wears a helmet anyway when they're riding the woom WOW outside.
The woom WOW is designed to challenge children while helping them develop important skills. It's a self-balancing bike, so it rights itself as it wobbles gently from side to side. Just be aware that the balance bike can still tip over if the child leans too far to one side.
Every little wobble forward, back and side to side supports the development of your child's motor skills. Children learn how to shift their weight without even realizing it because they're having so much fun. They start to achieve the perfect balance between mobility and stability in an age-appropriate way.
They'll also be training their sense of balance and strengthening their muscles – all of which will help them put one foot in front of the other. (Just so you know – your child can still wobble and roll forward on the woom WOW even if they can't walk yet.)
You know what else the woom WOW teaches little ones? How amazing it feels to move around! The experience of riding their self-balancing bike will give even the tiniest toddlers confidence in themselves and transform them into brave little explorers.
The self-balancing bike supports the early development of your child's motor skills from the age of 9 months. We have seen children who have used the woom WOW learn to walk sooner than expected. Now, the woom WOW doesn't teach children how to walk as such. But it does help because it improves their sense of balance and strengthens their muscles.
Yes. The woom WOW is a self-balancing bike, but it only works up to a certain angle. If your child leans too far to one side, the balance bike won't be able to right itself and will end up tipping over. But don't worry – little tumbles are all part of the process. They help your child to learn along the way. Just remember the woom WOW motto... Falling is not failing. Your child might struggle a little to start with, but they'll grow in skill and confidence every time they try again.
We have created a special unboxing experience just for you. Unpack the woom WOW and lots of activity ideas and clever accessories to inspire you and set your child up for all their exciting adventures ahead.

Your child needs to be at least 70 cm tall and 9 months old. We also think it's best if your child can stand up on their own and support themselves by holding onto something.
There are no definitive rules for when a child can play, wobble or roll with the woom WOW. It all depends on the motor skills of each baby or toddler, which can vary hugely between children at this young age. Some kids might be able to cover serious ground when they're only one year old, while others much prefer to examine the balance bike from top to bottom, push it around or spin the wheels at that age. Just let your child have fun and give them space to explore to their heart's content – at their own pace and in a way that's appropriate to their age and development.
The woom WOW is designed to return automatically to its original upright position as children shift their weight from side to side up to a certain angle. This helps tiny toddlers to strike the right balance between mobility and stability in a controlled but fun way, while training their sense of balance.
Toddlers don't usually have the motor skills to balance and steer at the same time. The self-centering steering returns the handlebars to their original position after every turn. That leaves little ones free to focus all their attention on balancing and rolling forward on their (new) ride.
The woom WOW self-balancing bike is suitable for babies and toddlers aged 9 to 36 months and is mainly designed for indoor use. The bike's clever design gives little ones a fun and controlled introduction to bike life. It's self-balancing, so it rights itself automatically after every little wobble from one side to another. The self-centering steering returns the handlebars to their original position after every turn. Babies and toddlers can start developing their balancing, rolling and steering skills while having fun. And the tires glide silently across the floor without leaving a trace.
The woom GO with 12″ wheels is designed for children aged between 18 months and 3.5 years. Its low-resistance tires with good grip are made for outdoor use above all. This bike isn't self-balancing like the woom WOW, so children have to learn how to keep the balance bike steady themselves with intuitive balancing movements and slight shifts in weight.
Both bikes train balance, agility and coordination, building on the key movements children need to ride bikes later in life (getting on, setting off, keeping balance).
The woom WOW is ideal for children around their first birthday, while the woom GO 1 comes into its own around their second birthday. You might find there is some overlap between the two bikes for a while, with your child using the woom WOW for indoor fun and setting off on the woom GO 1 for outdoor adventures.
With its self-balancing design and self-centering steering, the woom WOW helps your child learn to balance, shift their weight, roll and steer – all while having fun. This makes it the perfect first step before moving onto the woom GO 1 balance bike, with most children who have trained their balance and built their confidence on the woom WOW having a smoother transition to the woom GO 1.
But there's no need to worry if your child starts their bike journey with the woom GO 1. The movements are so intuitive that they'll pick them up in no time. Find out how to get started by reading >>this article on getting to grips with a balance bike.
Your child has their new bestie Buddy by their side from the moment they unbox their woom WOW and start to explore. Buddy is a soft toy with his own bike, so he can show your child what to do on their woom WOW.
But Buddy can also join your child for a ride. Just sit him on the woom WOW frame and tuck his arms under the handlebars. He doubles up as a soft landing for your child if they have a little tumble too.
