- The READY kids' helmet by woom has been awarded its first iF DESIGN AWARD Gold – one of the world's most prestigious accolades in product design
- More big wins: The woom EXPLORE children's bike and READY kids' helmet have also picked up major honors including the German Innovation Award, German Design Award and Red Dot Award
Vienna, 12/06/2025: A big moment for the international kids and teens' bike manufacturer as the new READY Kids' Helmet by woom has been awarded the coveted iF DESIGN AWARD Gold – one of the most respected distinctions in product design worldwide, and a first for the brand. This standout award is joined by a trio of additional wins: the Red Dot Award, German Design Award, and German Innovation Award – all recognizing the brand's commitment to product innovation.
With close to 11,000 entries from 66 countries, the iF DESIGN AWARD 2025 was more competitive than ever. Only 75 products, accounting for less than one percent, received the prestigious Gold title for outstanding design and innovation. Among them: the READY Kids' Helmet by woom, which impressed the jury with its enhanced level of safety, perfect fit, and a design that appeals to parents and children alike.
The iF DESIGN AWARD 2025 Gold isn't the only award that's come in the direction of the READY, which has already scooped up the Red Dot Award 2025 and the German Innovation Award 2025. Meanwhile, the woom EXPLORE – the brand's all-rounder bike for kids aged 6 to 14 years – is also busy winning over design experts, collecting the iF DESIGN AWARD, Red Dot Award, German Design Award and the German Innovation Award. In short: woom is firmly in the big leagues of product design.
Design that matches sense with style
What's behind it all? The 20-strong innovation team at woom that's committed to advancing bike design.
"At woom, we don't just design bikes — we design freedom, confidence, and joy for kids. Great design starts with seeing the world through the user's eyes. Every detail reflects our obsession with how children move through the world," explains Chris Small, Vice President of Innovation at woom. "We're driven by empathy, curiosity, and a deep respect for our young riders. By anticipating their needs and staying relentlessly user-focused, we create products that aren't just used — they're loved!"
The READY Kids' Helmet is a prime example of the brand's user-centered approach. As a helmet needs to fit perfectly to guarantee maximum protection, the new READY Kids' Helmet for kids aged 1 to 14 comes in three sizes that each feature a unique, age-specific inner shell. This way, the helmet provides outstanding comfort, a secure fit and all-day wearability. It also boasts considered features like an optional rear LED light, reflective elements, and an intuitive clasp system. In short: the READY is everything that young (and style-conscious) adventurers need to stay safe, confident and happy in the outdoors.

About woom
woom is an international manufacturer of bikes for children and teenagers with its headquarters in Vienna, Austria. The company was founded in 2013 by two bike-loving dads, Christian Bezdeka and Marcus Ihlenfeld, in a garage in Vienna. After searching the market in vain for suitable bikes for their own children, they decided to develop and build their own. With their light weight, timeless design, high-quality components and child-specific geometry, woom bikes set new standards for premium children's bikes. In just a few years, woom went from a little-known brand to the market leader in Austria. Since then, woom has made a name for itself around the world. In more than 40 countries – including the USA – you'll now find kids and teens riding woom bikes.
