Vienna, 22/04/2025: woom, the world's leading manufacturer of premium bikes for kids and teens, has achieved its strongest quarterly results to date in the first quarter of 2025. Sales increased by 40% compared to the previous year, taking them to €44 million. 124,000 bikes were sold in total. This impressive result is largely down to ongoing innovation and successful product launches, with woom having laid the foundations for another positive financial year ahead.
The Vienna-based business has continued to invest in new products and product development – and this strategy is paying off. Over the past ten months, woom has launched five new products, which have been recognized with prestigious design awards. The latest innovations include the woom EXPLORE bike models for kids and teens aged 6 and up, the woom GO range of bikes for younger children (aged 18 months to 8 years), the READY Kids' Helmet, the POP Kids' Bike Basket and the woom EXPLORE e, the first all-round e-bike from woom. With these new releases engineered precisely for young riders, woom is demonstrating how a strong and visionary brand can shape the children's bike market, while catering to new needs and tapping into exciting opportunities for the target group.
Turnaround in challenging times
woom has entered a new era over the past two years despite the less-than-favorable market conditions. While the market as a whole continues to grapple with serious challenges, woom is bucking the trend and looks set for profitable growth in the coming years. woom is seeing its sales rocket and increasing its share in the steadily declining bike market across all segments.
"I'm delighted with how woom has performed in the first quarter of 2025. The bike market may be volatile right now, but our results prove that we can keep growing through innovation and strategic market and channel diversification. It's really exciting to see that our commitment to innovation, our eye for detail and our team's hard work are contributing to this success," said woom CEO Bernd Hake. "A 40% increase in sales despite the challenging market conditions tells us that we are giving our customers exactly what they need. We're all set for the rest of 2025 and we're optimistic that our profitable growth will continue. Our focus on innovation, quality and our customers is paying off."
Kasper Rørsted, Chairman of the Board at woom, is happy with the recent results too: "The impressive figures from the first quarter validate our strategy and will consolidate our investors' confidence in our projected growth. They make it very clear that woom can continue to deliver excellent results even when the market conditions are challenging. With our strong brand, highly motivated team and clear innovation-driven plan behind us, we know there is huge potential to reinforce our position as the market leader in premium children's bikes and give the whole market a boost."
Regional diversification driving growth
woom is continuing to see strong growth across all regions. Even though the business is already firmly established in Austria, Germany and Switzerland, growth in these countries is still in double digits with bike sales up by 16%. But progress is even more dynamic elsewhere in the world, with sales increasing by 50% in the Nordic countries, the UK and the Benelux region. woom is seeing further growth in the USA too.
Innovation unlocking growth
Boosted by the success of the first quarter of 2025 and a strong start to April with business booming for Easter, woom is on track for further growth. The company will be expanding into a new market segment in autumn 2025, when it launches a product cleverly designed to give babies and toddlers aged 9 months and up a fun introduction to getting about on two wheels.

About woom
woom is an international manufacturer of bikes for children and teenagers with its headquarters in Vienna, Austria. The company was founded in 2013 by two bike-loving dads, Christian Bezdeka and Marcus Ihlenfeld, in a garage in Vienna. After searching the market in vain for suitable bikes for their own children, they decided to develop and build their own. With their light weight, timeless design, high-quality components and child-specific geometry, woom bikes set new standards for premium children's bikes. In just a few years, woom went from a little-known brand to the market leader in Austria. Since then, woom has made a name for itself around the world. In more than 30 countries – including the USA – you'll now find kids and teens riding woom bikes.
