Diagram of a child's head being measured with a tape measure

How do I know which helmet size my child needs?

You need to measure the circumference of your child's head to figure out which helmet size to buy. Holding a tape measure against your child's forehead, about 1 cm above their eyebrows and ears, measure all the way around their head. Check the positioning of the tape measure at the back of their head to ensure you're measuring the widest part.

Check your measurement against our sizes. If the circumference of your child's head is 48 cm, you'll need to go for XS (46–50 cm) and so on.

How do I make sure the helmet is sitting correctly?

If the helmet is too tight when your child puts it on, start by turning the size-adjustment dial to loosen off the adjustment system on the inside. Make sure the helmet is sitting level and covering your child's head properly. The front edge of the helmet should sit around 1 cm above the bridge of your child's nose. Turn the size-adjustment dial to tighten the ring on the inside until you're happy that the helmet is sitting nice and snugly. It shouldn't wobble when your child gently shakes their head. Finish off by fastening the chin strap clasp. Speaking of which... Before your child wears the helmet for the first time, adjust the length of the chin strap so that the helmet sits snugly but still feels comfortable.

The safest helmet is one that a child wants to wear

Very secure bike helmets, and easy to use. Just a pity they don't match the flashy Woom bike colors!

super cool bike helmet,

I'm absolutely thrilled with the new Woom helmet! It not only looks great, but is also very light and comfortable to wear. I find the integrated rear lighting particularly practical — a really clever solution. For me, once a woom, always a woom!

Awesome helmets... now the fourth. Awesome lock... BUT... why ditch the 'pang colors' (the scratchy bright colors) that the little ones love, and even wish for as a birthday present!! Happily found the last 'pang-purple' helmet in size. M. the last in the world, at Rask Bikes in Aarhus. A birthday gift wish. Too bad about the changed parent-friendly shower colors.

Looks great and sits great

The helmet is really the best we have so far - my little one loves it and immediately calls a helmet when we get ready to ride a bike! The great clasp and the great design also appealed to me!

Nice and well-thought-out details. Unfortunately, after just a few weeks, the foam holder on the inside of the forehead came off.

Simply good

There is no other helmet with such a secure front cover and such a brilliantly simple closure. That makes the Ready helmet uniquely good.

Best helmet

The helmet is simply great. The closure alone is very well thought out and can be easily handled by our child themselves. Because the helmet goes further down and the back of the head is therefore much better protected.

Really good helmet for kids

We think this helmet is amazing, partly our daughter thinks it's cool, and partly the child can put it on himself and it ends up right every time. It is common for children's helmets to end up too far in the back of the head so that the forehead is unprotected in the event of a fall - but this does not happen with READY, it sits where it should. It is easy for the child to adjust the helmet with the slider at the back and the child can snap and unbutton himself without any problems.

The original helmet was great because my son has a very narrow head, so the 3mm vs 6mm pad options allowed me to customize it perfectly for him. I just got this newly designed helmet and you only get one pad size, so we won't be able to customize it any more for him. In addition, I noticed a big dent in the bill, which was going to make me return it anyway. I compared the old helmet to the new and discovered they changed from a flexible rubber bill to a dense foam bill. It might be lighter, but if the helmet gets tossed around, you'll easily get dents in the foam that won't come out. Pretty easy to get them since shipping alone caused a dent. My kids are pretty rough, so we need a helmet that can keep up. I'm returning this one and buying the original since there are still some available. The only change benefit is it is slightly lighter and the clasp easier to figure out, but that's not enough for us to pay $20 extra considering all the cons.

Awesome helmets

I have one kid with a huge forehead and we struggled to.find a helmet that would actually cover his head. The woom helmet does just that. He loves the color, I love the fit and feel comfortable with him zipping around because I know his head is fully covered and protected.
