At first glance, the woom EXPLORE e is a very interesting children's e-bike. Low weight, good geometry and a modern MAHLE drive clearly speak for it. In my opinion, however, the bike has two unnecessary weaknesses for the daily journey to school: On the one hand, there is no permanently connected lighting system, although the built-in MAHLE x30 system technically supports a light connection. Instead, woom uses separate battery lights, which must be charged regularly and attached to the bike. Especially with a school bike, this is unnecessarily impractical. I find the battery solution even more incomprehensible. The battery sits on the outside of the down tube and is only secured in its holder. There is no lock or comparable anti-theft device. If you park your bike several hours before school, you would basically have to remove and take the battery with you every time. For a leisure e-bike, this minimalistic concept may work. When it comes to a bicycle that should be used reliably on the way to school every day, fixed light and a properly secured battery are essential requirements for me. Too bad, because with exactly these two points, the EXPLORE e would have been almost ideal for us and would have taken it again.

Range: For my daughter weighing 33 kg, only 60% of the battery capacity was used over 65 km with minimal or medium assistance. It was slightly uphill. The range was also sufficient for them in alpine cross. On a test day with maximum assistance, the battery was only empty after 700 meters of altitude difference. And because the bike is so light, the remaining 200 were no problem at all without assistance. Overall the best bike so far! Another piece of information that was not found here. The saddle has a mount on the bottom for a GoPro mount. We attached a saddlebag with an adapter.

The Explorer E6 is used with pleasure and good. Unfortunately, our rear bike keeps losing air even though there are no holes (has already been tested) the battery lasts quite well for our purposes, but must be charged directly afterwards. -My daughter comes approx. 30/35 km at the lowest power- The bike is so light that it can maintain speed even if the battery runs out. Even lifting into the bicycle cellar or out of the full garage is no problem at all with the weight.

Our son can easily keep up with us parents long trips (longest so far 76 km/day).

We are really excited about the bike. Woom was always our son's favorite brand (he simply got along best with it) and when the next size came up, we opted for the e-bike. It supports very well and the battery looks more like a water bottle. You can easily remove it and put it in your backpack if you want. We would buy it again and again.

I am 73 years old, 160cm tall and weigh 56 kg. I've been riding a Woom e 6 children's bike for a year and I'm very happy with it. My trips are mostly around Vienna and in about 20 km. The battery capacity is easily sufficient for this. In particular, the bike can be driven like a conventional bike without electricity - low weight - and the EAN drive is useful for headwinds and longer or steeper climbs. This bike is therefore also ideal for lightweight seniors. Disadvantage, suspension fork not available
