What's in the box?

Our woom bikes don't come with any additional accessories. You need to add optional extras like kickstands and mudguards on our equipment page.

If your child plans on cycling on public roads and streets, their bike may need to meet certain standard requirements before it can be considered legal in your country of residence. In many countries, bikes must be equipped with a bike bell, front and rear lights, and wide-angle Z reflectors. As rules for cyclists and their equipment vary from country to country, find out about the regulations applicable to riding a woom bike in road traffic in your country or region, particularly regarding the use of lights, reflectors and other obligatory safety equipment.

Features & highlights

All components that have been specifically designed with safety in mind bear the KIDSAFE PLUS seal.

Innovative frame

The superlight aluminum frame is the heart of the bike, ensuring a fun and safe riding experience. Thanks to its cleverly designed age-specific geometry, this superlight bike makes learning to ride super fun!

Child-specific hand brakes

Your child will immediately be able to spot the all-important rear brake – it's bright green! This color code system prevents them from mixing up the brakes, making for a safer ride. Our specially designed brake lever is easy to pull with small hands and requires little strength to bring the bike to a safe halt. This, along with the ergonomic grips, makes braking child's play.

Please note: All bikes delivered in the UK will have the UK standard with the green rear brake lever on the left.

Knee-friendly stem

Our stem ensures a safe and lightweight connection between the handlebars and the headset. The sleek, rounded design, integrated handlebar clamp and recessed clamp bolts make it truly knee-friendly.

Flexible steering limiter

Our specially developed steering limiter is a vital safety feature. It prevents the handlebars from overturning, which reduces the risk of accidents.

Cranks with a narrow Q-factor

The crank length and distance between the pedals have been ergonomically adapted to fit children's bodies. This results in an optimum stance and natural movements. Pedaling? A piece of cake!

Compact chainguard

The closed chainguard not only has an eye-catching stylish design but also boasts a compact and sturdy construction, providing your child with effective protection against injuries and dirt. Goodbye oil stains!

Ergonomically formed saddle

The saddle is one of the most important points of contact between the child and the bike. It significantly affects the feeling when riding. That's why our saddle is designed to be a perfect fit for the pelvis of children in this age group and optimized for an upright riding position. Perfect for getting the most out of their ride!

Please note that as we work with various suppliers, the actual saddle on your woom bike may vary slightly from the images shown.

All-round capable tires

Tires have a major influence on how a bike handles. That's why we've chosen tires that can be used for a broad variety of terrain for our bikes. Whether your child is riding on tarmac, gravel or dirt, our lightweight tires will ensure maximum grip in any weather and on any surface, whether in a straight line or cornering.

Smartly engineered wheels

A bike needs really good wheels to get rolling. So that's exactly what we've given our bikes. What makes a woom wheel so unique is the sum of its parts: from the smooth-rolling hubs to the high-quality stainless spokes and our exclusive SOOPA DOOPA HOOPS rims.

Great little bike

Pricy but worth it (strong secondary market), well-engineered bike for little ones. Way ahead of competitors. Get the freewheel hub.

Woom 2

Excellent bike. We have an older woom 2. Got a second one for our middle child. My only complaint is that the new woom 2 doesn’t studs for training wheel attachments unlike the older one.

The best bike hands down

We are a huge fan of Woom bikes at our house! I have a 5-year-old and a 3-year-old and they both ride around on their Woom bikes. If you are looking for a good bike Woom is 100% the way to go! Such good quality bikes and they hold up until your kids grow out of them. Plus they can be passed down to younger siblings. Absolutely LOVE!

Two Wheels at Two: My Toddler Mastered the Woom 2!

My daughter is 2 years and 8 months old, 35 inches tall, and just learned to ride the Woom 2 with pedals—no training wheels! I was amazed at how quickly she picked it up. Woom has truly designed a bike that is lightweight, well-sized for kids, and easy to handle. For her small stature, I had to roll the handlebars back slightly and lower the seat all the way down, but once adjusted, it fit well. One thing I will say—confidence on a balance bike is key! I wouldn’t have introduced pedals without knowing she could glide 10–20 feet comfortably. If your little one has mastered a balance bike, the Woom 2 is an incredible next step. Highly recommend!

Best kids bike!

Love our wooms! Our oldest struggled to learn to ride typical kids bikes (heavy with coaster breaks) much to our dismay as my husband and I are keen cyclists. Once we got him on a woom he gained the confidence and control to master riding with out training wheels. Seeing his success we started little brother off on the woom 2 with free hub and he was riding independently within a month at age 3 (had been on a balance bike). Of course all kids are different and they have to want to learn, but the woom made the experience fun for all!

A few things people should know while ordering this, and something woom really needs to improve.

I just got this bike, we have a woom1, and woom3 automagic as well. Woom makes a killer bike, no questions about that. A few things I think would be helpful to make more clear to folks ordering, and would have been a big money saver for me.1) This bike comes with a kickstand- there is some language telling you this, but they also sell one for it...2) This bike comes with the strap to make sure you don't turn to far3) The freewheel, COMES WITH A TIRE AND TUBE. This is not said at all from what I can see, and had me buying an extra tube and tire for the freewheel kit. 4) Their online videos aren't updated, so the tools needed to do things have changed for some things. The worst part of all, they CONTINUE to have their tire air valve be 10 inches long, making it impossible to air up the bike. How about you either fix that insane design, or you start to include that little inflation piece. The one I bought and shipped out after everything else so that my kids riding around with flat tires. So buy the inflation helper, but don't buy the other accesories. Again these bikes are great, but they could do better in their marketing and in their design.

Very well made, easy to assemble. Our 3.5 year old took off riding after a little coaching. He loves the colors and the look of the bike.

Lightweight, easy-to-learn, awesome bikes!

We've had our Woom 2 bikes for about a year now, we got them for our twins' third birthday. I finally decided to write a review because we love these bikes so much. My kids went from a balance bike to riding easily in a day. We did the free wheel and my kids have had no problem learning the hand brakes. The quality of the bikes is excellent, they are very light and the geometry is great. After a year of riding, they still look basically brand new. In addition, we are a military family and Woom customer service was incredibly helpful in helping us ship to an APO. My kids have almost grown out of their size 2 bikes and we will definitely be buying another set in size 3!

Horrible quality

Rear wheel is warped so bad - hits the brakes at a fixed location every turn - even after adjusting rear brakes. For this price, I expect better quality control.

High quality, fantastic ergonomics and performance, LOVE the freewheel option!!!

We figured out with our older daughter (now 9) that using a balance bike is a profoundly better way to learn to ride a bicycle over training wheels, so for our younger daughter (now 4), we started her off at 2 with a balance bike which she quickly figured out. She also had a tricycle, so was able to balance and pedal, just not together. The Woom 2 was the 4 year old's first "real" bike, and upon receiving it I was pleasantly impressed with the quality and lightness. Most importantly, the ergonomics and components were obviously built for kids. Of particular note is the hand grips and brake levers, which are not only perfectly sized, but also with the right lever pull reach and effort for our daughter. This is SUCH a critical area of oversight by most bike manufacturers that just try to make smaller versions of their adult bikes with adult-sized components.Long story short, we let our 4 year old get comfortable on the Woom 2 without pedals for a bit, and then literally within 10 minutes of mounting the pedals, she figured out how to bike on her own! The only difficulty was when she would accidentally pedal backward and come to a crashing halt, so I immediately ordered and installed the freewheel kit, which is absolutely essential. Search Youtube for an install video. It's quite easy, basically just like changing a tire, except that you're changing the wheel. The only fiddly bit was making sure the black portion of the chainguard nestled properly with the white portion, otherwise one or both would rub.Kudos to Woom from an old bike racer for building a product with such obvious heart and thoughtfulness for my daughter's first "real" bike! I only wish I'd discovered the Woom 2 years ago when my older daughter was learning. It would have saved me buying a couple bikes that only resulted in tears.

Best investment when raising an “outdoor kid”

Bought this for my 2 yr old. We took the pedals off and he has gotten used to the weight-it’s extremely light but still about double of his balance bike. He has learned how to brake efficiently and do some little tricks. Made a make shift bike trainer to practice pedaling in the house as he still gets used to the balancing and pedaling. He LOVES his big bike and asks to ride it all the time. He is just barely 2.5 yrs old now and would probably take off pedaling this week if I let him, I just don’t know that I can keep up! oh, we also got the free wheel kit! Highly recommend doing this!Only thing to note is that I did follow the assembly videos and got the free wheel on (with some difficulties) but the chain was noisy and a few things didn’t feel right. Took it to REI and they fixed it up for me pretty quickly-they had to adjust the brakes and a few other things.

Ghost pedaling has resulted in several crashes.

The bike is amazing, except for the ghost pedaling. If you wheel the bike the pedals often move, they will stop if you apply pressure to them. This is a giant pain if a kiddo is learning and trying to "strider" the bike up or down the hill. Also, it makes it much more difficult to get a rolling (strider) start which young cyclists often need. This has resulted in several fall downs/crashes for my kiddo. I am not unique in having this issue, it is also listed in the FAQs. In my Woom 2 this is not a chain tension issue. There can be many causes for ghost pedaling from chain tension to bottom bracket issues, to an over-torqued axel, but the most common is related to the hub on the wheel. Woom seems to have decided that ghost pedaling is the norm/fine with their bikes, but this is not a stance most adult high-end bike manufacturers take.

Best Kids Bike out there period to start learning

We started no pedals first like a balance bike it took 1 day to put pedal on with a little hold assist, in a few days my 3 year old learned how to ride.we had to upgrade with free wheel kit, I wish i knew when I ordered the bike, also putting on free wheel should be an option on woom cause I found it tricky to do, it was tricky to put chaincover back on. But you can also get that done at a bike shop. Customer care is best in business.

Awesome Beginner Bike

This bike is so much lighter than other kid bikes. My daughter learned to pedal this bike the day before her 4th birthday & has not stopped since. She loves zooming around the parks & trails (& maybe living room) constantly.
