Our 7-year-old son is finally able to go on smaller tours. I've had an e-bike for a long time and our son always whined when we rode together. Now we're driving 40 to 50 km in a row together and he's having fun doing it. In addition, we can achieve an average of over 20 km/h. It's really not comparable with the past. The conventional bicycle was also not the first choice for the 5 km route to soccer. Back, it's almost completely slightly uphill. Fortunately, it's no longer a problem now.

WOOM Explore e 5: We think the e-bike that I bought for my 8-year-old daughter 2 weeks ago is basically great! It is easy, easy to handle and generally a great bike my daughter loves. However, we noticed a few things in the two weeks that I would like to note. 1. Why is the bike only available in grey? You're a children's bike manufacturer after all. We don't understand that! It is such a shame that no other color could be selected! 2. The battery is only secured by an elastic band and even if the bike is only parked for a few minutes, it must be unplugged and carried along, otherwise it could be stolen. The battery now costs around 500€ and is the most expensive thing on a bike. The battery can be locked on every e-bike, but not on your children's eBike. That is something that is absolutely incomprehensible to me. 3. There is no chain guard but only a gear protector that even slightly extends beyond the front gear. My daughter's trouser legs have been pulled between the cog and the chain several times now. I can understand that the Woom UP E mountain bike doesn't include a gear protector, but the Explorer e is your version of the everyday bike. I would be happy to receive information about a possible retrofit kit.
Dear Daniel, Thank you so much for your honest feedback! We understand your concerns. Our Explore e-bike is a limited edition with which we do not want to replace our Explore bikes, but to expand them. We have opted for the removable battery so that children can also use their bike like a normal bike. We also kept the color itself simple because, as already mentioned, the bike itself is a limited edition. We have therefore opted for a neutral color. We are constantly working on new projects and improvements. Your feedback helps us to respond even more to you as a customer. If you are looking for more information about your e-bike and its gear protection, feel free to send us a message to our customer service. I'm sure we'll find a good solution for you.:) Very best regards your WOOM team
The setup was fast and easy. Everything matched perfectly. The bike is lighter than our other 24" bike, even with the motor and the battery. Brakes, tires, gears, handlebars, seat—everything is very nice. My kids had some experience with e-scooters and with normal bikes. This bike became their favorite from the first 5 minutes of riding it, so I am considering buying a second one. They are 7 and 9 years old. The motor/hub works well and is silent. The original settings were a bit low, but I mapped it using the official app to "normal-eco," and on green, it is perfect for them. Yellow and purple are a bit too much (too easy for uphills) for their weight, but that is good since I assume for the next few years they will grow and become heavier. The only downside is it is quite expensive for a kids' bike, which can be a bit tricky if you live in a not-very-safe city and your kids are used to leaving things unattended.
Our daughter (7) has been riding the EXPLORE e 5 since last spring and for us it is the greatest bike we can imagine. The battery is the perfect pedal support in our mountainous village, she's finally having fun riding her bike because no mountain is too steep anymore. When she is cycling with her friends, we simply remove the battery so that everyone can cycle at the same level. For us, the most perfect e-bike for children, probably even the lightest - our daughter can even lift it herself and for us it is also the most stylish e-bike for children. Absolute purchase recommendation, we would buy it again and again, the price is definitely justified!!
