The best bike we ever had

We purchased the Woom 6 (Red/White) for our 10-year-old daughter, and after extensive use, it’s clear this bike is in a class of its own. Delivered in 2 working days in pristine condition, the assembly process was minimal (front wheel and seat only). First ride: 20+ km, smooth and silent performance. The lightweight frame and geometry make starting, cruising, and climbing effortless. The grip-shift gear system is intuitive and ideal for kids – she tackled hills without dismounting. Compared to other children’s bikes we’ve owned, this is a standout in both performance and comfort. Though the price is high, the low depreciation and exceptional build quality fully justify it.

i would ride this bike if I was a kid

Bikes are my life. Mountain biking, road, gravel, etc. I've had about 20 bikes in my life. Wish I'd had Woom Original bikes when i was growing up. Great design, light, easy to work on, durable. A few quality problems, nothing significant. High resale value.

Disappointed with Direct-to-Consumer Purchasing Experience

Woom always sits at the top of best bike for kids, so I was excited to purchase the Woom 6 for my 10 year old. The bike looks awesome, and he loved the purple color (now discontinued). He also liked the twist shifter because it was what he was used to with his older bikes. However, we had issues with the rear derailleur from the get-go. It kept jumping around the gears when he tried to shift. Woom has a You Tube video "How to Fix Bike Gears", but the first recommendation in the video is: if you're a novice with bike mechanics, take it to a shop. It took two trips to a bike shop to get the rear derailleur corrected (REI both times, so I'm rather miffed with them that they didn't get it right the first time). It was an unwelcome expense and an unwelcome amount of time he couldn't ride his bike.I wish Woom provided some sort of "first adjustment" automatic reimbursement to a local bike shop (that must be redeemed within a certain amount of time from delivery). Otherwise, it puts the burden on us novice bike folks who can't make the adjustments necessary to get the bike perfect for your rider. It has really soured me on the direct-to-consumer bike purchasing experience. I know a lot of retailers don't carry good kid-specific bikes, but at least they would be adjusted to fit the rider (and work properly) before you took it home.

On our 3rd Woom now. 11 year old rode 100 km on his Woom 6 yesterday. Loves it!

I am fan of Woom bikes. My son started riding on a Woom 3 and he now rides a Woom 6 and loves it. The bikes are very well made, easy to maintain and definitely survive the wear and tear or a kid's bike. Also, they have a terrific resale value. I have successfully sold the older Wooms on Craigslist within 2 days and that too after a bidding war! In my opinion, these are REAL bikes built with proper geometry and controls. I have spent many long hours riding with my son and it has provides some of the happiest moments of my life and I am grateful to Woom for building bicycles that add to that experience. So if you are considering a Woom, do not hesitate. They cost a little more but that is more than made up in the joy they will bring for years to come.

Good bike, great warranty service

Nicely designed and made, but my Woom 6 had a fork defect: the dropout faces were not parallel, with the outer face not normal to the axle. The result is that pressing the QR flange caused the QR nut and skewer to bend downwards considerably. I made a brief video of the problem and in less than 24 hours Woom service offered to overnight me a new bike! Impressive service, hence my 5 star, but with my bike build-up and repair skills I settled for a new fork, which they sent overnight. Nevertheless, they offered to pay for a local bike shop to do all the work (my local bike shop is a 340 mile round-trip.) The new fork was made correctly, and I installed a new star nut, moved the lower bearing seat to the new fork, inserted the fork and adjusted the preload, and it works perfectly. I've purchased much more expensive bikes with warranty problems - that's why warranties exist. Woom service is really good. Have fun with your Woom!

Easy to handle, comfortable to ride

My son loves this bike. It's light and manageable for him but feels as stable as a heavier steel framed bike. The geometry is perfect for his size, keeping him using good posture (to prevent soreness on longer rides) while maneuvering over different terrain. I wish I would have found these bikes before he fit on a six!

Woom gets it!

Our two daughters (age 11 & 12) are on their 3rd set of Woom bikes. Woom makes light, very well specified bikes that are easy to maintain. Set-up is well supported and intuitive. Customer service is outstanding. I’ve found that Woom doesn’t just want to sell you a bike, they really want you and your family to enjoy and use the heck out of it. They “get” that a 50 pound kid is going to enjoy riding a 20 pound bike WAY more than a cheaper spec bike that weighs 35 pounds. They “get” what your child really needs to have a fun bike. I’ll also share on a personal note that they “get” what it means to be part of the community. Even if that community is 1000 miles away in CO. Woom supported many family’s that lost everything in the Dec 2021 Marshal wildfire fire. Provided bikes, replaced bikes. They took action almost immediately. It meant so much to those families. We will be Woom customers for life!

Woom 6 is great tween bike

My son rode a Woom 4 and 5, and insisted on having a 6 as his next bike. He loves his new 6 in Mint Green. Is this bike very expensive compared to most kids bikes? $570, yes! Is it worth it? Well, thats a big question! PROS:- I'm a bike snob/nerd, so my family all ride a lot.- We purchased the Woom fenders ($50) and rear rack ($50) extra, plus an Ortlieb waterproof pannier ($80) plus a bike lock ($30) so the bike is useful in rain and for carrying stuff.- My son (age 12) is allowed to ride around the neighborhood on his own, so he does. - He goes for rides over 10 miles and he is (has just started!) using the gears. The high quality, child sized and low weight of the components of the Woom 6 are important to me, as they are encouraging him to ride as much as possible, by making trips reliable, comfortable and easy. - The bike does NOT have suspension, so it is lighter and more reliable than a bike with it. Children are too light to activate suspension.- I know that the bike will outlast him, so his younger sister will get to use it.- The resale value will be high.CONS:- This is a Road/City bike with gears. If you leave your child bikes outside over the winter or do BMX, this is not the right bike for you.- The bike arrived with a very slight buckle in one wheel, and needed slight tuning of the gears after a month. No problem if you can use Youtube with reasonable mechanical aptitude. This is a normal high quality bike, so it is not "maintenance free".

Christmas Present

The new bike is in my garage for a Christmas surprise. Know it will be perfect. She is moving from Woom 5 to 6. Younger brother will enjoy that 5!

Love it

So this bike may be intended for kids but I bought it for myself, a 5’3” woman. It’s sturdy, simple, and perfect for cruising around with my small kids on their Woom bikes! Assembly was mostly easy except the front brake proved difficult to figure out, the instructions and video did not help, and I had to get my bike mechanic sister to fix it. Now that that issue is resolved I’m quite happy with the bike.

Best performance bike ever

Woom has the best bike because, it is pretty fast and easy to assemble. Woom 6 is good for a long 9 mile ride. It weighs about 26 pounds which is easier for kids to ride up big hills. The colors are nice and blue is cool looking in person. The bike took a while to ship because of covid, but it was worth it. This bike is probably good for trail riding too. This bike was a fair cost for the design.Woom bikes are good for gifts to anyone. Thank you Woom for making riding so much easier. Respectfully, Ava W

Perfect for petite adults

I needed a 26" hybrid bike and this is the only one I could find. I love it. I am 50 years old, 5' tall and can't wait to go mountain biking with my son on his matching 20" Woom bike. I may decide to upgrade and add more gears, this is still a much less expensive option than a custom bike.

Perfect hybrid bike for kid

My son will be 9 in three months and is coming out of a well-used Woom 4 (about 1.5k miles on it). He is about 53.5-in. tall so I decided to bypass the W5 given that he will be close to 55 in. this summer (he is on the tall side for his age, 75 percentile). He can ride the W6 well. Did his first 5 miles today, no problem.
