woom partnership with Corratec in Romania strengthens production in Europe

Vienna/Timișoara, 17 July 2025: woom, the international manufacturer of bikes for children and teenagers, is significantly expanding its production capacity in Europe. From Q1 2026, the German bike manufacturer Corratec will be making woom bikes for the European market at its factory in Timișoara in Romania.
woom is progressing with its nearshoring strategy and bringing a strong production partner on board with German manufacturer Corratec. The aim is to bolster the supply chain, shorten the transport routes and facilitate more agile responses to market developments. Corratec impressed woom with its bike and engineering expertise, consistent quality and geographical proximity to woom headquarters in Vienna.
"Our woom bikes and accessories meet exceptionally high standards for design, quality, innovation and sustainability. Partnering with Corratec will bring us closer to our core markets in Europe and put us in an even stronger position for long-term growth," says woom COO Johannes Kisslinger.
Romania key to extending production in Europe
Extending production into Romania is an important move as woom continues to build resilience across the supply chain. Romania will become the third European location in the woom production network, which already consists of multiple partner facilities in Asia and Europe. Following on from challenges at the start of the year, woom is strategically building its production capacity in Europe to increase flexibility and lay the foundations for ongoing growth.
"For us, the factory in Timișoara has huge potential because it allows us to build on our production capacity as well as our strategic partnership with Corratec. We want to work together to take production to the next level in Europe, increase the value added in the region and improve resilience and flexibility in the long term," says Kisslinger.

About woom
woom is an international manufacturer of bikes for children and teenagers with its headquarters in Vienna, Austria. The company was founded in 2013 by two bike-loving dads, Christian Bezdeka and Marcus Ihlenfeld, in a garage in Vienna. After searching the market in vain for suitable bikes for their own children, they decided to develop and build their own. With their light weight, timeless design, high-quality components and child-specific geometry, woom bikes set new standards for premium children's bikes. In just a few years, woom went from a little-known brand to the market leader in Austria. Since then, woom has made a name for itself around the world. In more than 40 countries – including the USA – you'll now find kids and teens riding woom bikes.
