Vienna, 05/03/2025: woom is starting spring with a spring in its step as it launches new-and-improved versions of its most popular products. Introducing the superlight woom GO bike in 4 sizes for kids aged 18 months to 8 years and the READY Kids' Helmet in 3 sizes for kids aged 1 to 14. Both products have been carefully designed to bring more safety, comfort and fun.
The bikes and helmet are available in cool new colors that go together perfectly. Kids can mix and match their favorites to add their own splash of color to their fun family adventures.

Ready for new adventures
woom is known for making innovative, child-specific bikes that make riding and learning to ride super fun and super simple for even the littlest of kids. With this new generation of its iconic bikes and balance bikes (with 12″ to 20″ wheels) and an optimized version of its popular bike helmet, woom is once again raising the bar for design, ergonomics and safety.

The eighth generation of the iconic all-rounder bike from woom comes in four sizes and four brand-new colors, with many improvements having been made to the design.

"We wanted to make riding a bike even more enjoyable for kids," said Matthias Leite-Gürtner, Product Designer at woom. "By improving the upright riding position, adding new-and-improved handlebar grips and giving the saddles a more ergonomic design, we've optimized the ride so kids can have more fun than ever."

Introducing kids to bike life with woom GO
The woom GO 1 balance bike unlocks a whole world of adventures on two wheels for kids aged 18 months and up. When they're ready to transition to pedals, the woom GO 2 makes that milestone a moment to remember. Every other model after that keeps boosting confidence, while ticking the boxes for safety and fun. That continues all the way up to the woom GO 4, which is designed for children who are ready to get to grips with gears and set off on more epic expeditions.

"Our vision is to inspire millions of children all around the world to love riding their bike, so the future is sustainable, healthy and active. The growing demand for premium bikes made specifically for kids indicates that we're heading in the right direction. When designing the woom GO bikes and the READY Kids' Helmet, we focused on premium quality, safety and clean lines to boost our brand's presence in this dynamic market and make progress on our mission to encourage the youngest generations to fall in love with bike life," said CEO Bernd Hake.

Key features of the woom GO:

  • Bike geometry even better for beginners: a more upright riding position for safe and intuitive handling.
  • Increased comfort: saddles with an age-appropriate design and narrower handlebar grips with a targeted comfort zone for a consistently firm grip.
  • Improved ergonomics: textured saddle underside on balance bikes (sizes 1 and 1 PLUS) for ease of carrying and ABC markings for straightforward adjustment of the saddle and handlebars as the child grows (sizes 2 to 4).
  • Child-friendly features: easy-to-use twist shifter (size 4) with a fun gear indicator to make it easier for kids to get to grip with gears.

All the updates in the new woom GO range stay true to the woom values – the bikes are superlight with a low entry and clever safety features like the handlebar grip ends with a large diameter to provide protection against injuries and grippy tires on sizes 1 to 4 and the green rear brake lever to avoid mix-ups with the brakes and the flexible steering limiter to prevent crashes on sizes 1 to 3.

Here's another highlight from the woom GO range – the woom all-rounder in size 4 (bike with 20″ wheels) has been designed with BMX-style bars for the first time ever. That's great news for kids aged 6 and up who want to take their POP Kids' Bike Basket with them on their adventures. The POP is now available in marshmallow pink alongside the original colors (blue, purple, grey and yellow).

The new READY Kids' Helmet – perfect fit, ultimate protection.

A helmet needs to fit perfectly for maximum protection to be provided. And that's why the new woom READY Kids' Helmet for kids aged 1 to 14 comes in three sizes that each have their own age-specific inner shell. That inner shell keeps the helmet feeling comfortable and sitting perfectly on a child's head at any age. Other improvements to the helmet design tick the boxes for safety, visibility and ease of use.

"We worked really hard on the fit and took a deep dive into thousands of scans of children's heads so we could get it just right for every age," said Leite-Gürtner. "By bringing in the new size-adjustment system and introducing more reflective features, we've seriously boosted comfort, visibility and safety."

Key features of the READY Kids' Helmet:

  • Perfect fit: age-appropriate inner shell for each size and better padding for ultimate comfort and a size-adjustment system all the way around the head with a robust new dial.
  • Ultimate protection: no pressure on the sensitive soft spot on a young child's head or the skull joints as kids get older and an energy-absorbing visor acting as a sun and rain shield and providing protection for the face.
  • Improved visibility: reflective features – a logo on each side, two straps and detailing on the size-adjustment dial – plus the option to add an LED rear light.
  • Child-friendly design: new zero-pinch magnetic clasp that's super easy to open and round straps that don't get twisted.
  • Versatile protection: The READY Kids' Helmet has been approved for all roller sports as well as cycling, so kids can wear it on their skateboards, scooters and roller skates. It's even perfect for protecting the heads of tiny passengers in a bike seat, trailer or cargo bike.

There's also the option to add the high-quality LED rear light to the READY Kids' Helmet. This smart new accessory is rechargeable, impact-resistant and splash-proof. It also turns off automatically if children or parents forget. One size fits all, so the helmet light is conveniently compatible with each and every READY Kids' Helmet to boost the visibility of young riders.

Mix and match for colorful adventures

The woom GO bikes and the READY Kids' Helmet come in new shades that go together perfectly. They can be mixed and matched to add a splash of color to fun family adventures.

Following the launch of the woom GO bikes, the all-rounder with 20″ wheels is available in two different versions – the woom GO 4 with BMX-style bars and rim brakes and the sportier woom EXPLORE 4 with straight handlebars and disc brakes. This means that families and kids can choose the size 4 model that suits their ride best from now on.

The woom GO, the READY Kids' Helmet and the POP Kids' Bike Basket in marshmallow pink are available online and in selected stores now.

About woom
woom is an international manufacturer of bikes for children and teenagers with its headquarters in Vienna, Austria. The company was founded in 2013 by two bike-loving dads, Christian Bezdeka and Marcus Ihlenfeld, in a garage in Vienna. After searching the market in vain for suitable bikes for their own children, they decided to develop and build their own. With their light weight, timeless design, high-quality components and child-specific geometry, woom bikes set new standards for premium children's bikes. In just a few years, woom went from a little-known brand to the market leader in Austria. Since then, woom has made a name for itself around the world. In more than 30 countries – including the USA – you'll see kids and teens riding woom bikes.
