Yes. The woom GO 1, 1 PLUS, 2, 3, 3 AUTOMAGIC and 4 are permanent additions to our range of bikes. The woom ORIGINAL will only be available while stocks last.
The woom GO is the eighth generation of our much-loved woom ORIGINAL, upgrading our classic bike model with technical updates, fresh colors and a new name. Available in four sizes (with 12, 14, 16 and 20″ wheels), it is designed to improve comfort and safety for children aged between 18 months and 8 years while they're learning to ride a bike.
This is what's new about the woom GO:
- The bike geometry is even better for beginners and the saddle has an age-appropriate design for each bike size so your child can sit more comfortably in an upright position.
- The handlebars have a narrower diameter at the end and the grips have an age-appropriate design for each bike size to improve the grip comfort for your child.
- ABC markings on the BMX bar and seatpost on size 2 and up make it easier for you to keep adjusting the saddle and handlebars to your child, so the bike can grow with them.
- The saddle on the woom GO 1 and woom GO 1 PLUS has a textured underside so it's nice and easy for you to carry your child's balance bike when they're too tired to ride. Both our balance bikes also have an oval-shaped seatpost that doesn't twist to the side when you're adjusting the saddle height.
- The woom GO 4 has an easy-to-use twist grip shifter with a fun, child-specific gear indicator (hare to go faster; tortoise to go slower) that helps young riders get to grips with gears in no time.
- And all the sizes come in our classic woom red and four new colors – vibrant yellow, hot pink, metallic blue and metallic turquoise.
Yes. All the accessories for our woom ORIGINAL bikes (models from 2020 onward) fit the woom GO bikes in the same size.
Here's a list of the accessories that fit the different sizes of the woom GO:
woom GO 1 | BUTLER Bike Bag, SURFBOARD Footrest |
woom GO 1 to 4 | VIENNA Bell and BING Bell |
woom GO 1 PLUS to 4 | LEGGIE Kickstand, CYCLOPE Bike Lights |
woom GO 2 to 4 | SNAP Click-On Mudguards, POP Kid's Bike Basket, GLUG Stainless Steel Bottle |
woom GO 3 and 4 | PICKUP Rack |
This largely depends on your child's individual needs and how they plan to use their woom GO.
- Whichever woom GO size your child has, you can always add our loud and clear VIENNA Bell or BING Bell.
- If your child has the woom GO 1 balance bike, you can add the SURFBOARD Footrest to ramp up the fun factor. Our BUTLER Bike Bag is another handy accessory that makes it easier (and cleaner) for you to carry your child's balance bike when they need a rest.
- All sizes up from and including the woom GO 1 PLUS are compatible with the LEGGIE Kickstand, which is so easy to use that your child will be able to park up with no trouble at all.
- Our woom GO 2 to 4 bikes can be upgraded with the SNAP Click-On Mudguards and the CYCLOPE Bike Lights to improve your child's ride experience. Adding a bike bell is the final touch to comply with road traffic regulations in many countries. And the POP Kids' Bike Basket is a practical addition that gives your child extra space to take their essentials with them on their adventures.
- The woom GO 3 and 4 are ideal for exploring nature and setting off on longer bike rides, so it might be a good idea to fit them with our PICKUP Rack. That way, your child will be able to carry everything they need comfortably and safely.
Yes, the sizes of the woom GO bikes and balance bikes are the same as the sizes of the woom ORIGINAL bikes and balance bikes.
- The smallest balance bike, the woom GO 1, has 12″ wheels and is designed for children who are between 82 and 100 cm tall (roughly 18 months to 3.5 years old).
- The woom GO 1 PLUS balance bike with 14″ wheels and the woom GO 2 with 14″ wheels (the smallest bike with pedals) are designed for children who are between 95 and 110 cm tall (roughly 3 to 4.5 years old).
- The woom GO 3 and woom GO 3 AUTOMAGIC bikes with 16″ wheels are designed for children who are between 105 and 120 cm tall (roughly 4 to 6 years old).
- The woom GO 4 with 20″ wheels is designed for children who are between 115 and 130 cm tall (roughly 6 to 8 years old).
We understand that a bike for older children needs to be different to a bike for toddlers and preschoolers, so we decided to reflect this distinction between the sizes more clearly when developing our woom ORIGINAL models.
- The woom GO is available in sizes 1 to 4. The geometry and features of these balance bikes and pedal bikes are even better for beginners, making it easier for kids to learn to ride while staying safe and having fun.
- The woom EXPLORE comes in sizes 4 to 6. Its features and design have been carefully matched to the wants and needs of older kids.
- NEW addition alert! There are two versions of the size 4 bike with 20″ wheels – the woom EXPLORE 4 with an adjustable stem and disc brakes and the woom GO 4 with a BMX bar design and rim brakes.
All spare parts available for the woom GO – including grips, saddles and reflectors – can be found in our spare parts shop or through your local woom dealer.
If you're struggling to find the spare part you need, our customer service team will be happy to help you.
Most of the woom ORIGINAL spare parts fit the woom GO too. We recommend that you always check the product description in our shop. A list of compatible bike models is provided for each spare part.
If you have any other questions or need any further assistance with spare parts, contact our customer service team or your local woom dealer.
The saddles on the woom GO have an age-appropriate design for each bike size to provide your child with ultimate comfort.
It is possible to remove and replace the saddle, but you will have to also remove and replace the seatpost because the saddle and seatpost come in one piece on the woom GO.
Make sure you clean your child's woom GO regularly to keep it in good condition. You should also check the screws, tire pressure and brakes on a regular basis. If you notice that any parts are damaged or worn, have them repaired or replaced by a professional. You can also check that your child's woom GO is in proper working order and safe for your child to ride by asking a professional to inspect the bike at regular intervals. You can find further instructions for maintenance on individual bike components and check the recommended maintenance schedule in the instructions for use for the woom GO.
We have a number of useful bike fit and maintenance videos on our website that guide you through the process of adjusting your child's woom bike and handling simple maintenance tasks yourself.
We recommend that you run through a quick safety check before every ride to make sure that everything is working as it should be. Think: screws, brakes, air!
1. Are all the screws and quick-releases done up tightly?
2. Are the brakes working perfectly?
3. Are the tires well pumped up? Is there any sign of damage to the rubber?
You should also make sure that your child is wearing a bike helmet that fits them properly.
You can find further safety information in the instructions for use for your child's woom GO.
You can take precautions to protect your child's woom GO against theft. We recommend using a good-quality lock (like our LOKKI Bike Lock) to secure both the frame and the front wheel to something that cannot be moved. You should ideally store your child's woom bike inside your home or in a locked bike store. If you have no choice but to leave the bike outside, make sure it's in a well-lit, busy spot where it's in full view.
Don't forget to make a note of the frame number too. This number is unique to your bike, so it provides an important way of identifying it when reporting a theft to the police and liaising with your insurance provider.
