Here's our handy guide to measuring your child's head accurately and adjusting their READY Kids' Helmet properly to provide them with ultimate protection when they're out and about on their bike, balance bike or scooter.
Which helmet size does my child need?
Holding a tape measure about 1 cm above your child's eyebrows and ears, measure all the way around their head. Check the positioning of the tape measure to make sure you're measuring the widest part of the head.
Size guide:
46–50 cm: size XS
50–53 cm: size S
53–57 cm: size M
Is your child between two sizes?
If your child's head measures exactly 50 or 53 cm, we recommend that you go for the bigger helmet size. For measurements of 49.9 or 52.9 cm, it's usually best to order the smaller size.

READY Kids' Helmet + READY Helmet Light
READY to ride! We've bundled up our READY Kids' Helmet and rechargeable READY Helmet Light to make sure kids aged 1 to 14 stay safe and visible on their outdoor adventures. Choose a color, select a size and you're good to go! The helmet light is compatible with the READY Kids' Helmet in every size.
If the helmet is too tight, turn the size-adjustment dial to loosen off the adjustment system on the inside.
2. Put the helmet on your child's head
Place the helmet on your child's head so it's perfectly level. It shouldn't be pulled too far back or fall too far forward. The front edge should sit around 2 cm above your child's eyebrows.
3. Use the adjustment system
Turn the size-adjustment dial on the back of the helmet to tighten the ring on the inside until you're happy that the helmet is sitting nice and snugly. It shouldn't slide about when your child gently shakes their head.
4. Fasten and adjust the chin strap
Fasten and adjust the chin strap so that it sits snugly but comfortablywithout digging in. You should be able to slide a finger between the strap and your child's chin.
Handy hint
You might find there's space to fit up to two fingers between your child's head and the side of the outer shell due to the oval shape of the adjustment system. This just means your child's head has plenty of room to grow.
