We started with a balance bike when my daughter was 2. This summer she was interested in learning how to pedal but was having issues putting it together on the hand-me-down pedal bike, and my back wasn’t having it anymore. We got this bike and within a week she was starting and stopping on her own, sprinting park paths, and constantly asking to go for rides. Was it having a brand new bike? Maybe. Was it the geometry? Being able to stride easier and pedal gave her a ton of confidence to transition.
Good quality, good overall performance, my child likes it. However, I am not satisfied with the height adjustment and fixing of the seat.
Item is well designed but mediocrely put together. There were signs of poorly applied paint and scratches to the stem fixed using a sharpie or paint that doesn’t match during QC. My rating is a bit more critical since this kids bike costs $500, a lot of money with higher expectations. Wheels were not true and straight out of the box. I was a cyclist and adult bikes of similar cost do not arrive this way out of the box.
My 3 year old had the woom 1 and the transition to the woom 2 was seamless for him. Assembly was easy and as with the 1, I'm so impressed with the thoughtfulness of the design and materials. "Ding ding!" - my son ringing his bell at every person he rides by.
Our neighbors children all have Woom bikes in varying sizes and they all had nothing but good things to say about them. My daughter is 3.5 and was motivated to start practicing on a standard balance bike once her best friend started pedalling on his Woom 2. After a few days, she was slowly picking up speed and we realised she was simply too big for the old balance bike. After some research, we realised Woom was the most well recommended bike we could find, so we splurged and got her the Woom Go 2 in hot pink. The bike is really well constructed and great quality - there are lots of little, well thought out details. Putting it together took maybe 5 minutes. We started with the pedals off and reintroduced them when she was starting to get faster at coasting. A few days ago, she magically started pedalling! Exactly 13 days after receiving it. The Woom was definitely an investment, but clearly worth it. She loves her bike and I love that there is a trade in program, as it will ensure we stick with Woom bikes as she grows. My only complaint is that the hot pink is not very pink (a bit disappointing for a pink obsessed preschooler). We compared the colour to a friends Woom 3 in the Woom Red and they were not that far off of eachother. One other minor detail I like on the previous generation bikes is the metal logo on the front, which is now painted/screened on the new Go model.Overall, we love the bike and recommend it!
