28/5/2026

Vienna, 28/05/2026: woom is expanding its top management team by appointing Björn Boos as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Reporting directly to CEO Bernd Hake, Boos will be taking ownership of the financial strategy for the international manufacturer of bikes for kids and teens. Together with COO Johannes Kisslinger and Bernd Hake, he will be instrumental in driving forward the ongoing international expansion and strategic evolution of woom. By expanding the C-suite, woom is strategically setting the business up for its next growth phase.

Björn Boos (55) has many years of international experience in financial management, financial controlling and business development. His career began with auditing roles at Arthur Andersen and EY. From there, Boos moved onto Ströer, an MDAX-listed German media company, where he ultimately became Senior Vice President Finance. In this role, he was responsible for central finance and financial management. Most recently, Boos was the CFO of The Customization Group, a global leader specialising in print-on-demand solutions. He was responsible for the organisation's global finance function, supporting its international expansion and increasing professionalisation. Born in Germany, Boos is married and a father to two sons.

"By expanding our C-suite, we're setting woom up for its next growth phase. Björn brings the international financial expertise and extensive scaling experience we need as we continue to build on our global presence," says woom CEO Bernd Hake.

Björn Boos adds: "woom is a strong brand with a clear vision that is highly relevant for children and families all around the world. I'm looking forward to working with the dedicated team to shape the next growth phase and guide woom on its international path with a solid financial foundation and future focus."

In his new role at woom, Björn Boos will be focused on developing the company's finance function, strengthening its capital structure and supporting its international expansion.

About woom
woom is an international manufacturer of bikes for children and teenagers with its headquarters in Vienna, Austria. The company was founded in 2013 by two bike-loving dads, Christian Bezdeka and Marcus Ihlenfeld, in a garage in Vienna. After searching the market in vain for suitable bikes for their own children, they decided to develop and build their own. With their light weight, timeless design, high-quality components and child-specific geometry, woom bikes set new standards for premium children's bikes. In just a few years, woom went from a little-known brand to the market leader in Austria. Since then, woom has made a name for itself around the world. In more than 40 countries – including the USA, the Middle East and China – you'll now find kids and teens riding woom bikes.
